John Weston Mosby - Experience with Aircraft Operations

John Weston Mosby is a retired United States Air Force officer. He earned a seven-level certification as an Aircraft Electrician in the United States Air Force. His experience includes technical aircraft maintenance, flight operations, training, and leadership. John Weston “Wes” Mosby's involvement with aircraft operations began in April 1975, when he served as an Aircraft Electrician working on F4 Phantom jets.

After several years in aircraft maintenance, Wes Mosby transitioned into aeromedical evacuation operations. Beginning in 1979, he served as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Instructor and Examiner. This position placed him at the intersection of aviation operations and flight training. He also evaluated performance standards and helped ensure that personnel were prepared to carry out specialized flight missions.

Wes Mosby's expertise in aircraft-related operations eventually led to senior leadership responsibilities. From 1997 to 2002, he served as Chief of Aeromedical Flight Training Standards and Evaluations. In this capacity, he oversaw programs designed to maintain and improve operational effectiveness. His leadership role involved establishing and monitoring training standards that supported consistent performance and mission readiness.
